Trying to Grow an Avocado Tree Day 1
So while I was trying to find a Mother's Day present or a craft to make for my mom. I found this link http://www.wikihow.com/Plant-an-Avocadoree. So I decided to try it. Now Mother's Day has come and gone but I'm still going to try and grow an avocado tree. I followed the steps till step 8. The brown shell on mine has all ready pealed off. So I started last night and took this picture. I also took a picture today and I’ll post that in a bit. But for right now this is what it looks like on day 1. I will post a picture of this little avocado pit every chance I can. I hope you enjoy seeing it grow over the next few weeks.

Not sure, but it looks like your pit is/was upside-down. Did it ever grow? I usually grow them by placing pit in soil, and have not had problems, except that they don't continue growing well. So I thought I'd start them in water. Most appear to be turning to mush, rather than sprouting.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should just go back to planting the pits directly in soil in pots as this whole water thing seems a crazy-long extra step that probably won't ever yield anything, not even a plant!
Good luck, though (five years later.)
